As I look at my calendar, I’m struck by how 2024 has flown by in what feels like mere moments.
The thought that 2025 is just around the corner is both exciting and, if I’m honest, a little terrifying.
Why does time seem to speed up with each passing year? Perhaps it’s because we’re rarely truly present – always racing from one meeting to the next, eyes fixed on the next deadline, the next quarter, the next goal.
I’ve been reflecting on how we craft our days.
Our calendars have become puzzles where we try to fit in just one more commitment, one more task, one more “quick catch-up.” But life isn’t meant to be a sprint to December 31st.
This year has taught me the importance of being intentional with our energy, not just our time.
Before blocking off another hour in my calendar, I’m learning to ask: Does this align with my values? Will this energize or drain me? What am I saying ‘no’ to by saying ‘yes’ to this?
As we approach 2025, I’m challenging myself – and inviting you – to create space for presence.
To schedule moments of reflection. To protect time for what truly matters.
Because while we can’t slow down time, we can choose to experience it more fully.

There’s no denying it: sometimes work and being

There’s no denying it: sometimes work and being a mum can feel a little like a tightrope walk.  Especially on those mornings where I’m heading off earlier than usual for travel or to present.   It used to particularly hit me when they were really little and really didn’t want me to go. Their sweet faces, their little hands reaching for me—it’s a feeling that’s hard to shake.  And sometimes, even now, the guilt creeps in.  But I’ve started to see it differently.  Instead of focusing on the guilt of leaving them behind, I try to re-frame my perspective.  I remind myself that by chasing my own dreams, I am setting an example. I’m showing them that following your passions is not just a luxury, it’s a necessity.  That hard work and commitment are essential to creating the life you want—both for yourself and for the people you love most.  I want my children to know me not just as the woman who packs their lunches and kisses their scraped knees, but as someone who dares to chase horizons.  I’m also someone who believes that dreams aren’t meant to gather dust on high shelves, but are to be pulled down, examined, and pursued with fierce intention - and helping people is a huge part of that for me. It matters.   Because here’s the truth I’m learning: when I honour my ambitions, I teach them to honour theirs. When I navigate challenges with grace, I show them resilience isn’t just a word—it’s a muscle that grows stronger with every use.  And as their Mum, if I can help them see that, then every early morning and every moment of doubt will feel worth it.  To all the parents out there juggling work, dreams, and family—you are doing an incredible job. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but take a moment to recognise the strength you’re showing each day.   Even on the tough mornings, when the guilt feels heavy, remember: You are doing more than just building a career or providing for your family—you are shaping the next generation, teaching them the value of perseverance, passion, and the courage to dream big.  Keep going! You are inspiring them by being the best version of yourself. #mumlife

Even the most senior leaders are human. We all need to feel seen, heard, and valued. When authentic connections happen, that’s where the magic lies.
I witnessed this firsthand co-facilitating @swinburne Senior Leaders Day with George Liacos from Spark Strategy. What stood out was their willingness to be vulnerable, ask tough questions, and truly listen.
ALIGN: We explored where we’re headed, challenges we face, and how we want our people to feel.
CONNECT: Trust is essential for high performance. Leaders shared openly, listened without judgment, and built meaningful relationships.
ELEVATE: Stepping back from the day-to-day, we challenged assumptions, connected vision and built trust for collaboration.
The room’s energy was palpable as guards dropped and real connections formed. These moments elevate teams from good to great.

The world feels a little bit heavy at the moment, don’t you think?

At the start of spring, I shot a video reflecting on the changing seasons—how everything passes, how change is inevitable, and how, in the midst of it all, things are still okay.

And I need to remind myself of this idea, because these words are just as relevant today—perhaps even more so.

No matter where we are in our life journey—whether facing uncertainty, navigating transitions, or big change—it’s important to remember that every phase is part of a larger cycle of life. 🌍

The seasons change, things pass, and in the end, we keep moving forward, learning, and adapting. We don’t always have a choice!

The key is to focus on what’s within our control. While we can’t always influence the external circumstances, we can choose how we respond, how we adapt, and where we direct our energy.

And perhaps most importantly, in tough times, it’s essential to stay connected with our inner circles—those people who lift us up, remind us of our strength, and help us keep perspective.

So, if you’re going through a tough time or facing a challenge, remember: it’s okay. You’re not alone, and the next season of growth is always just around the corner.

Kids who believe in magic are kids who believe in

Kids who believe in magic are kids who believe in possibility, and that's why I lean into Halloween each year 🎃.
I used to hate it, to be honest. It's an American tradition, that seemed odd to me, and when we were younger it definitely wasn't as much of a 'thing'.
But, when I lived in London, and my boys were small, I had a totally different experience.
We'd moved into a new neighbourhood, and I can't tell you how lucky a move it was. I'd always longed for the that feeling of local community and neighbours who knew each other. For the boys to grow up with a group of other kids and to be in out of each others homes. And I'd never had it until we moved in here.
It was a truly special time. A completely eclectic group of people lived in our street, and our area, and I made lifelong friends with many of them.
And, that is where I became a Halloween convert.
I saw the magic. The connection in our community. The creativity that emerged out of neighbours young and old, creating magic for the kids.
It’s not about the costumes or the sweets — it’s about creating a moment in time for us to be together. For all of us to step out of the seriousness of life and just play.
Interestingly, my boys tell me it's their favourite celebration of the year.
So, despite the fact that I will be online tonight delivering one of our global leadership programs with people from all around the world. I have blocked out the afternoon and early evening to play, and create a little connection - and a little magic. I might even keep the costume on for our Program later 🙂

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the people function - HR, Human Resources, P&C - whichever name they go by in your organisation, they play a critical role in today’s business landscape and the future of business, in general.
Which is why it continually shocks me how often they are so under resourced and frequently undervalued. Not just within their business, but by the external market, too.
It’s both a grave and short sighted mistake.
We work with CEO’s, CFO’s...all the C’s as key clients, and frankly, some of the best, most insightful and strategic conversations I have are with the CPO’s and CHRO’s we work with.
They’re key architects in your businesses biggest competitive advantage - your people. But, not only do they have their finger on the pulse of their internal market, their dual passion for people and business, means they stay across the societal, business and tech trends that will be the foundation of your future business success.
